Palm vein scanner captures the image of an individual's vein pattern, reflecting it with near-infrared rays. The existing deoxidized hemoglobin in the palm vein will absorb the infra-red rays and decreases the reflection rate, which causes the veins to appear as a black pattern. The biometric vein pattern obtained is then verified against a pre-registered pattern of a vein to verify an individual.
